There’s something truly special about fall weddings. The changing colors make for a beautiful backdrop, the cooling temperature makes us want to be closer to one another, and the warm scents of fall often remind us of fond childhood memories.
There are a few things that make James and Amanda’s wedding special to The Wedding Network. The shear beauty alone of their wedding day would make them a shoe in for Wedding Of The Month, but on top of that they took beautiful photos in The Wedding Networks hometown of Woodstock, Il that breathtakingly captured why we love this town so much AND Amanda is my (TWN President Amy Henning) Step Sister. I did not nominate her but Im so glad someone did!

Did you attend any bridal shows during the planning process?
I attended a few of the Wedding Network Shows, a few shows at Parkway and my first show was at D’Andreas! It made finding vendors and comparing styles and prices so much easier than doing the research on your own

Did you find it helpful to use vendors that are comfortable working together?
Absolutely. I heard so many times, “O I love them, they will take good care of you” which I thought was sweet. And when you use a certain amount of vendors through TWN you get a discounts which is awesome.

How did you and your new spouse meet?
We met on a dating site. Neither of us were really interested in the other, but our conversations were great. It took us about 3 months to decide we wanted to meet each other. We hung out as friends for a few months then we decided to give it a solid try, and now here we are! MARRIED!

Tell us about the details of your wedding day.
We had a fall themed wedding. Our decorations were pumpkins, hay bails, gourds, mums, Indian corn, rusty milk jugs, and moonshine jugs. It was so different and beautiful. Pinterest is LIFE! Lol our goal was to make it feel like the alter was at a pumpkin farm and I think we succeeded! Instead of table numbers we did table names. Names like candy corn, crisp air, pumpkin spice… a lot of people said they’ve never seen

Tell us your about your favorite part of your wedding day.
My favorite part of our wedding was our unity ceremony. Instead of sand or a candle, we used 2 different colored corn. And my Papa sang one of our favorite songs. It was so beautiful.

What is the best piece of advice you can give to a bride about planning a wedding?
Just remember that this is YOUR day. You do everything the way you see fit. And if something doesn’t go right, it will make for a good story down the line. For weeks it said 90% chance of rain on our day. We purchased 30 umbrellas for our pictures and guests. Up to the morning of it said 90%. But when it came to it, it didn’t rain a drop until after the ceremony was over! You only get to do this once, have all of your best of friends with you, take tons of pictures, o and have someone run and get you some food before the wedding because you probably won’t get to eat
