A warm summer day, Vintage details, Rustic Charm, and a whole lot of fun made the perfect wedding day for these high school sweethearts. Please join me in welcoming our October 2017 Wedding of the Month Chrissy + Alex.
I was really excited when this nomination came across my desk because even before asking our certified wedding professionals for Wedding of the Month nominations I was hearing about how fun this wedding was from The Wedding Network members that had worked on it. I got even more excited when I got my hands on the photographs from Rosy Lens Portrait They completely tell the story and made me feel like I was there. You’ll see what I mean if you keep scrolling….
How did you and Alex meet? Alex and I are high school sweethearts who met our sophomore year. We’ve been together going on ten years now.
Tell us about the details of your wedding…
We had a summery rustic barn wedding at Byron Colby Barn on July 8, 2017 that was full of greenery and lace with pops of yellow throughout.

My husband is handy so a large majority of our decor was handmade/hand built. We utilized a lot of vintage/rustic wood to help bring character into our decor for the day.
Since we have been together almost a decade we tried to incorporate photos of us throughout or relationship as decor as well.
The weather was a perfect summer day and the atmosphere was fun and upbeat.
My favorite part of our wedding day was my first dance with my husband. It’s true what they say about everything moving a million miles an hour the day of your wedding…so our first dance was a chance for Alex and I to slow things down and really take in all the joy together.

It was truly so wonderful to see all of the details that we spent so many months planning out come together so well.
and it was such a blessing to see all of our family and friends come from near and far to celebrate us. Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.
Did you find it helpful working with vendors that are comfortable working together?
Yes. Especially when it came to our day of Coordinator. (Wedding Days Exclusively) It was a reassurance knowing she knew a majority of our vendors and was able to communicate with ease with them.

What is the best piece of advice you can give to a bride about planning a wedding? –– to slow down and take it all in. It all goes by so fast and you really deserve to be as present as you can be in those moments. I would also suggest planning out any memories that you want captured on camera (whether that be through your photographer or videographer). If you go into the day having pre discussed your ideal style and moments that you want captured it helps ensure that you will have those memories forever.

Thank you to Chrissy + Alex for sharing their big day with us
